The Youth Cafe in partnership with AIESEC is organizing a youth month; the largest youth-centered event in Kenya. Youth Month is an annual event organized by AIESEC in Kenya founded in 2022, where the Country Managers, members, and youths in general from all over the country meet to build new projects, network, learn new skills, ensuring we solve the problems youths in the country face.

The Youth Café was invited for a 3-day Collaborative Futures Workshop, which is a hybrid hackathon and fellowship designed to help you, and fellow social justice organizations and leaders envision ways that emerging creative technology can expand your impact, understand how new technologies will shape your work and how we can change these technologies, and learn how to act on this knowledge in partnership with East Africa's boldest creatives and technologists using a Do It Yourself (DIY) ethos and active collaboration.
Social Media And Youth Activism From A Global Perspective
On the 29th of September, 2021, The Youth Café was invited to give a lecture to the honors students at the University of Illinois at Chicago about a Global Perspective on Social Media Activism. We discussed global Social Media Activism and highlighted some case studies in Africa, where we spoke about the role of the youth in social media activism and the role of social media in shaping the contemporary public sphere and our democracy.
Partnering With LEAP Africa On The Youth Day Of Service
The Youth Café is excited to announce a partnership with LEAP Africa to implement Youth Day of Service 2021. YDOS is a week-long youth-led social impact campaign to create awareness and mobilize young people across Africa to take civic action in commemoration of the annual United Nations’ International Youth Day, held from 12th August to 18th August, 2021. The campaign theme of 2021 is ‘Youthful and Useful’ as the goal is to foster the active engagement of youths for community development and actualizations of the SDGs in Africa.

The Youth Café was honoured to have the director, Willice Onyango as a recognized and awarded youth leader in the country. The Youth Café is proud to be a youth-led and youth-serving organization that has embraced the strength and resourcefulness of young people. The dimensions of exclusion that The Youth Café addresses are economic, social, political and cultural. The Youth Café has an active and popular admission of interns and volunteers to its programs which builds the capacity of young people in different skill sets. We have worked with over 2000 interns who come from different countries as well as cultural and religious backgrounds. Our plan to work with interns and volunteers is a strategic decision that is designed to involve as many qualified youths as possible in development decisions.
