In the margins of the 6th European Union - African Union summit on 17 and 18 February 2022, over 10,000 delegates from Europe, Africa, and beyond participated in the first Africa-Europe Week together with 15,000 delegates in the 7th EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF). Hosted in a hybrid format in Brussels and virtually, during over 100 sessions, panel discussions, and concerts, the first edition of the Africa-Europe week was a key moment to bring together young people, civil society, and the private sector from Africa and Europe to discuss the aspects of the Africa-EU Partnership that matter to them the most. The Africa-Europe week aimed to strengthen the links connecting people from Africa and Europe.

On the 29th of November, the Executive Director of The Youth Café, Mr. Willice Onyango, spoke at a forum organized by Engage Jamii Initiatives in partnership with the US Embassy in Nairobi. The program focused on the “Role of Youth and Women in Peaceful Election Campaigns” in Kenya.
Media Competition Virtual Awards Ceremony | Engaging Youth In The Fight Against Corruption
The Youth Café conducted a virtual video/photo award ceremony on the 23rd of September 2021. The theme of the project was to “capture your reality of corruption and governance”. Several key players attended including our participants, members of The Youth Café, members of the public and our keynote speaker, Mr. Samuel Kimeu, the Executive Director of Africa’s Voices Foundation.
Consultation With EU Delegation In Kenya | Connecting, Engaging And Empowering Youths
On the 22nd of July 2021, the European Union held a consultation session with Kenyan youth representative organizations, with The Youth Café as a participant. Through the participation of this survey, the EU stated that participation in this survey can assist in the elaboration of their strategy in supporting Kenyan youth.
The Youth Café Is Supporting The 2021 Nairobi City County Youth Policy
In partnership with the Nairobi County Government, The Youth Café will be organizing Public Participatory Forums targeting the youth in Nairobi in order to integrate their voices and proposals into the Nairobi City County Youth Policy. We believe that these forums will provide an opportunity for the youth who are the major beneficiaries, to give their input and enrich the draft the Youth Policy. The Youth Café is also dedicated to support The Nairobi County Government in the dissemination and distribution of the policy after its completion.
