The United States Library of Congress has selected The Youth Cafés' website for inclusion in the Kenyan Presidential Election 2022 Web Archive, which is part of a larger collection of historically and culturally significant websites that have been designated for preservation. The Library hopes that The Youth Café shares the Library's vision of preserving digital content and making it available to current and future generations of researchers. The Library of Congress believes that expanding access to the Library's collections is one of the best ways to increase opportunities for education and scholarship worldwide.
The Youth Café Is Supporting The 2021 Nairobi City County Youth Policy
In partnership with the Nairobi County Government, The Youth Café will be organizing Public Participatory Forums targeting the youth in Nairobi in order to integrate their voices and proposals into the Nairobi City County Youth Policy. We believe that these forums will provide an opportunity for the youth who are the major beneficiaries, to give their input and enrich the draft the Youth Policy. The Youth Café is also dedicated to support The Nairobi County Government in the dissemination and distribution of the policy after its completion.
Changing the Narrative of TVET Institutions in Kenya
The Youth Café is determined to look at TVET institutions as what they are: excellent institutions for skills building in line of different careers. However, for this to happen collectively, the Ministry of Education requires to adopt a vigorous communication scheme that highlights the benefits of these institutions, their competitive edge and the success stories necessary to influence the thinking of students as well as parents. The goals to achieve social equity and present all students with good options for training could be elevated by the resourcefulness and strength of all tertiary institutions. Strengthening TVET institutions is a matter of national growth and a closer inch towards sustainable education.
