The United States Library of Congress has selected The Youth Cafés' website for inclusion in the Kenyan Presidential Election 2022 Web Archive, which is part of a larger collection of historically and culturally significant websites that have been designated for preservation. The Library hopes that The Youth Café shares the Library's vision of preserving digital content and making it available to current and future generations of researchers. The Library of Congress believes that expanding access to the Library's collections is one of the best ways to increase opportunities for education and scholarship worldwide.
10th Economic And Social Council Youth Forum | A Decade Of Action | Building A Resilient Recovery
The annual Youth Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on 7-8 April 2021. The Forum is being organized at a time when the world is witnessing an unprecedented global emergency with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Youth Forum will address the theme1 of ECOSOC and the 2021 UN High-level Political Forum (HLPF) focusing primarily on COVID-19 and its impact on the implementation of the Decade of Action for Sustainable Development and the kind of recovery that can put us back on track to build a better world as envisioned in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
How Can We bridge The Inequality Gap? Lessons From Ford Foundation's New Strategy For Eastern Africa | The Youth Cafe
The Youth Café, upon invitation, had the opportunity to attend the Ford Foundation Strategy launch, held on 30th January 2020 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi-Kenya. The theme of the event was, bridging the inequality gap. This event saw convergence of several partners spanning from representatives of civil society and private sector, to government representatives, in order to discuss the widely growing inequality in the society, with a keen focus on the young people. Corruption was explicitly mentioned as a major reason for inequality.
