The Youth Café is excited to announce that we will be speaking at The 2063 Academy Youth Dialogue. In collaboration with NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency, i4Policy, Facebook and Maghreb Economic Forum, the 3rd edition of the 2063 Academy will take place from 13 to 17 September 2021.

Reflecting On Youth, Peace And Security At The ICGLR Regional Multifunctional Youth Forum
The meeting assessed the implementation of the ICGLR Heads of State and Government Declaration on Youth Unemployment and the Pact on Security, Stability and development. Further, it looked at ways of developing the ICGLR Regional Action Plan on UNSC Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security as adopted by the ICGLR Heads of State and Government during their 8th Ordinary Summit held on 20th November 2020. The meeting also received presentations on the UNSCR 1325 process for peer learning. This came on the heels of a developments in the region, including elections in the Republic of Burundi, Tanzania and Central Africa Republic.
The Next Generation | How Might We Include Youth In politics?
What future do young people want and how can they increase their participation in politics? This was the overarching question that formed an esteemed panel of young leaders, including The Youth Cafe’s Executive director, at the recently conducted online conference under the theme of COVID-19 & DEMOCRACY IN EAST AFRICA CONFERENCE from 19-20 November 2020. The Youth Cafe’s overarching goal around youth inclusion in politics is to increase the number of informed youth participating in the upcoming 2022 elections in Kenya, as well as increased participation of marginalized groups like women in the elections.
The Youth Cafe And The US-Youth, Peace And Security Coalition
The Youth Café, committing to the UN Youth, Peace and Security agenda, recently became a member of the United States-Youth Peace and Security Coalition (US-YPS), co-led by Search for Common Ground and the Alliance for Peacebuilding. The Coalition is part of the larger Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security which consists of an amalgam of civil society organizations, including youth-led and youth-serving ones like The Youth Café, UN entities, donors, academia and inter-governmental bodies.
