The Constitution of Kenya creates a platform for gender equality and non-discrimination. It also provides a fresh impetus for a national policy to chart a roadmap for the attainment of the constitutional provisions. Article 10 of the Constitution is on the National Values and Principles of governance.
The Youth Democracy Cohort is proud to present the Menu of Possible Commitments meant to help prioritize, facilitate, and enhance youth civic and political participation. These 33 actionable and specific recommendations are provided as a set of policy options for participating governments in the Summit for Democracy
Since 2012, The Youth Cafe has been working with Young men and women in Kenya and around Africa in the fight for climate justice and environmental preservation. Our plan contains interventions in the areas of Renewable Energy, Agroforestry, Education and public awareness, Climate Smart Agriculture, and Water Resources conservation and the anticipated impacts. The goals of the plans are to promote cooperation between all stakeholders in the promotion of Sustainable development and Environmental conservation.
The Youth Cafe is partnering with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to disseminate a Change for Climate toolkit. The toolkit is designed to inspire and mobilise young Africans (aged 13-18) around the circular economy concept.
Are you a young person, ambitious to engage in pro-environmental change but need to know how due to the complexity of the climate crisis and the diversity of options? This toolkit will provide information and guidance on how to engage and lead pro-environmental change on four levels: individual, local and national, international, and social-media communication.
The Youth Cafe believes that partnerships based on cooperation between different actors can lead to individual and structural change through networks, coalitions, and alliances. As a result, we work to legitimise diverse youth organisations to advocate for society-wide change, monitor those in power, and promote dialogue for change. All people are holders of human rights and can describe their problems and propose solutions.
The 9 August 2022 general elections in Kenya took place in a peaceful environment overall, with fundamental democratic rights respected. Six separate votes were held at different levels concurrently and this made for a complicated process that took nearly a week to finalize, with numerous challenges emerging.

The EU Action Plan On Human Rights And Democracy 2020–2024 is a framework, one of purpose and direction, with a broad range of policies, tools, and political and financial instruments. This EU Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy 2020-2024 is the third Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy adopted by the EU. As with the previous two Action Plans, the objective is to enhance and hone EU efforts to promote human rights and democracy worldwide.
