Our Safeguarding Policy outlines our commitment to protecting anyone who comes into contact with The Youth Cafe from sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse in all its forms. The Youth Cafe recognizes that these harms are gross human rights violations rooted in an imbalance of power, particularly gendered and sexualized abuses of power. This Policy is supported by the Child Safeguarding Policy, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse (SHEA) at Work Policy.

In regards to this, The Youth Cafe, in partnership with the Indonesia Youth Foundation, held a 3-day Kenya & Indonesia virtual Trans-cultural workshop; “Buddies Without Borders: Amplifying Cultures & Promoting Diversity,” objectified to Promote cultures and heritages of Indonesia and Kenya, Build mutual understanding and tolerance between Indonesian and Kenyan youths, Bridge overseas friendship and networking, Explore new cultural facets from the two countries (such as language, food, traditions, art, and fashion) and deepen the intercultural connection as well as Flourish diversity cross-cultural skills in a globalized world.

Justifying Meaningful Engagement And Inclusion Of Young People In Political Processes.

More transparency, better accountability, and greater responsiveness to the youth demographic are elements young Kenyans yearn for. The Kenyan government is beginning to respond to these demands. To encourage more civic engagement by younger citizens, the government is taking measures through the World Bank's Kenya Accountable Devolution Program (KADP) to incorporate public participatory budgeting into their budget decision-making process. The 2007 general elections highlighted Kenya's failure to engage its youth constituency effectively in political, governance, and electoral processes. Building trust between young people and democratic institutions is critical as young people make up a substantive part of the overall Kenyan population.
