The diverse cultural values, prevalence of infectious diseases (including Neglected Tropical Diseases), weak healthcare systems, fragmented supply chains and economic dimensions impose distinct challenges in the fight against AMR. It is therefore imperative to recognize that the future of Africa depends on, among other developmental issues, effectively addressing the threat of AMR, as its impact extends to the economic development and social stability of the continent.
