The 2-day advocacy workshop was designed to be a hybrid event, offering both in-person and virtual participation options. The physical event was be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, providing an opportunity for direct engagement and collaboration. The hybrid format enabled the inclusion of a broader audience, reaching youth, young women, and youth networks globally. The first day of the workshop marks a crucial step in the journey towards equipping young advocates with the necessary resources to drive meaningful change.

On 25 May 2023, The Youth Cafe Collaborated with OHCHR DESIB in a virtual Youth Engagement Session: This 90 minutes webinar session brought together youth from different countries and backgrounds in a dialogue to identify barriers to implementing economic, social, and cultural rights and approaches to operationalize these rights as a framework for addressing local and global challenges; raise awareness of the young people across the world about economic, social and cultural rights; promote initiatives and diverse implications of the youth; and to strengthen the linkages between the youth-led organizations.
Taking Part In The Annual Deliberative Democracy | The Status Of Civic Participation Worldwide
The fifth edition of the network's annual conference was attended by 125 scholars, practitioners and policymakers from every continent. The Youth Cafe staff were happy to have participated in this event. Network members came from the US, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, Nigeria, Mauritius, Israel, India, Taiwan, Australia and 13 European countries, including Ukraine. Entitled "Innovating Deliberative Democracy", the conference dealt with three key themes: political participation, inclusive participation and democracy in (times of) crisis.
