The Africa Youth Forum, held on 15th August 2024 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya, brought together a diverse assembly of 382 delegates, including leaders, policymakers, youth advocates, and other stakeholders, to explore and advance youth-led solutions for transformative change. The forum was attended by representatives from all 47 Kenyan counties and 6 African countries—Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Notably, 72% of the delegates were between the ages of 18 and 35, and 42% of the delegates were women, highlighting the forum's commitment to inclusivity and gender representation. The event centered around breaking barriers and amplifying youth voices through constructive dialogue, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development.
National Youth Summit For Developing A Youth Manifesto 2022 | Magnifying The Visibility Of Youth Leaders.
The Youth Summit on Magnifying the Visibility of Youth Leaders was a unique in-person event designed by young people for young people. The summit was convened by the International Republican Institute and The Youth Café and organized with strategic partners, including 254 Youth Policy Café, The Global Development Incubator, and The Global Opportunity Youth Network support. The summit convened 40 youth, including youth political aspirants and civil society representatives with diverse sectoral knowledge on policy issues and priorities for the Kenyan youth. The three-day summit called on young people from all over Kenya to discuss the needs of youth that will integrate into the Kenya Youth Manifesto 2022.

Policy Interventions And Measures Ahead Of The 2022 General Elections.
The Youth Café, in its mandate to safeguard the public's interest, is investing in different policy interventions that have a direct bearing on the citizens, and accountability of the Kenyan Government. The 2022 elections are viewed as a moment to raise the integrity bar and root corrupt leaders out of office. During the past few years, corruption has increased significantly in the country. The whole idea of corruption has been ethnicized and politicized, allowing leaders and Kenyan citizens today to disregard the question of accountability, and as a result, we have performed poorly in the fight against corruption.
Rap Session On Youth Leadership And Political Participation
The Rap Session On Youth Leadership And Political Participation held on the 20th of November, explored the role of youth leadership and political participation in Kenya’s democratic process. The session brought together national leaders from the Executive Office of the President, Youth Ministry and other functions of government along with the youth to discuss these pertinent issues. These issues are even more urgent given the upcoming general elections in 2022.
The Kenya Youth Manifesto 2022
The Kenyan youth have been largely excluded from meaningful political participation in the past. Hence, leading up to the 2022 general elections, The Youth Café and partners are collaboratively writing Regional/County Youth Manifestos that will eventually feed into a National Kenya Youth Manifesto 2022 (KYM 2022) to outline the views of the nation's youth and demand to be given equal chance and supported to actively participate in the forthcoming general elections.

The meeting of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2020 was held from 7 July - 16 July 2020, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and limitations on in-person meetings and international travel, the HLPF 2020 was held virtually for the first time including all side and special events. The HLPF annual meeting is the core United Nations platform for follow- up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
