The basis for the prioritization of youth development is rooted in Our Strategic Plan, which looks at today's youth bulge as an opportunity for development and economic growth. The prioritization of youth development has made The Youth Café the leading organization in realizing sizable, lasting, and positive changes in the lives of young people in Africa. Youthful audacity to dream big and execute those dreams is essential in tackling Africa's daunting challenges today. Fostered by grassroots knowledge, The Youth Café commits to reducing youth deprivation and socio-economic empowerment resulting in transformative change.
The Youth Café And African Boy Child Forum
At The Youth Café, we try to dive deeper and strive to understand the more nuanced image of the dynamics of masculinity’s social construct as we hear the conflicting accounts of experiences from young boys and men. We try to empower young people, inclusive of all genders and seek to comprehend the complex societal pressures and circumstances that young men face as they strive to build masculine identities. We aim to develop strategies that seek to motivate young men to cultivate non-violent, non-abusive, less dangerous versions of masculinity in favor of more life enhancing ideas to benefit Africa as a whole.
Youth Excel Releases Global Gender and Inclusion Analysis
Youth Excel aims to advance gender equality by using research, learning, and data to change systems and transform norms, shifting power differentials so that diverse youth—including youth of all genders in different age categories—influence development agendas and development decision making. In late 2020, we conducted a Global GESI Analysis through desk research to (1) compile data and identify broad trends in line with Youth Excel’s work; (2) provide recommendations for Youth Excel activities.
