On Tuesday the 11th of January 2022, The Youth Café members were thrilled to be part of another pre-mobile clinic meeting held at the Border Police Unit headquarters in Kanyonyoo, Kitui County. The US Army officials are initiating the mobile clinic project at the Border Police Unit headquarters to promote the Border Police Unit and the work they do for the communities around for better relations and collaborations between the police officers and members of the community.
Magnifying Visibility Of Youth Leaders
International Republican Institute, The Youth Café and partners are working on a project aimed to enhance the skills of Kenyan youth to gain influence within the political establishment and to serve in civic and political leadership roles. To accomplish this, the project will hold a series of capacity-building training to increase the technical skills of Kenyan youth to successfully participate in the party primaries and contest in the elections.
Lessons Learnt From Humentum’s Administration Costs Research Project
The Youth Café was privileged to participate in a research project “Administration Costs Research Project (ACRP)” conducted by Humentum. The Youth Café, through its staff actively took part in a series of recommendations and interventions led by Humentum to address insufficient cost coverage in project grants in ten countries around the world.
Introducing Financial Literacy Certification Program 2021
In 2021, The Youth Café is prioritizing inclusive development to make sure that more young people benefit from economic growth and development. We aim to reduce poverty and inequality, in both income and non-income dimensions. In line with this vision, The Youth Café is piloting a Financial Literacy Intervention Program for youth.
Attending The UNFSS Independent Dialogue | African Youth As Drivers For Decent Job Creation In Sustainable Food Systems
The Youth Café was glad to be part of The UNFSS Independent Dialogue since one of its key thematic areas focuses on ‘Environmental Preservation and Climate Change’, where the focus is on increasing climate change literacy programs, advocacy for the creation of more green jobs, and creation of a collaborative platform where young people can actively engage and participate in finding solutions to the environmental challenges such as increased investment in the blue economy.
Speaking At This Years Futuremakers Forum | Unleashing The Potential Of Young People To Succeed In The Future World Of Work
The Youth Cafés Executive Director has been invited to be a part of this year’s Futuremakers Forum, in his capacity as a youth business leader in Africa. Join us at this event from 13-15 July to coincide with the United Nations’ World Youth Skills Day. At the Forum we will hear from business leaders and the employees of the future, discuss emerging trends in the future world of work, and what it means for young people entering the job market over the next decade.
MIL Capacity Building For Youth Organizations in Kenya | The Youth Cafe
The Youth Cafe in pertnership with Centre for Media and Information Literacy in Kenya (CMIL-Kenya) and UNESCO have planned a 3-day media and information literacy (MIL) capacity building for membership-based youth led organisations in Kenya to enhance their MIL competencies. The workshop will be held on October 17th – 19th, 2018 at Sunstar Hotel, Nairobi.
