On the 11th of August 2023, The Youth Cafe, in partnership with Youth Democracy Cohort and the European Union, organized a webinar under the subject of ‘Young People re-defining the future of democratic processes in Africa.’ This 90-minute webinar explored how young people, especially young women, can take an active and meaningful role in shaping the democratic processes in Africa. This webinar was part of a broader project, “The Ignite African Youth Project” and was in line with the commemoration of International Youth Day 2023 under the theme ‘Green skills for youth towards a sustainable world’, highlighting the need for empowering youth with the skills necessary to drive sustainability initiatives at local and global levels.

The Youth Cafe (TYC) participated in the EU Multi-Annual Indicative Program Review consultative meeting in the esteemed presence of The European Union ambassador to Kenya, Ms. Heinrette Geiger. The consultations included presentations of the EU Kenya bilateral program (MIP) priorities, progress to date, and what is expected to happen during 2024-2027.
Women Deliver Conference 2023
Every three years, the Women Deliver Conference galvanizes momentum for gender equality. It is a bold and diverse gathering, a fueling station of ideas, and a generator of action, convening thousands to identify solutions and drive change for girls and women. The first Women Deliver (WD) conference was held in London, UK, in 2007, bringing together 1,700 people and making the investment case for reproductive and maternal health; Women Deliver secured MDG 5 – Improve Maternal Health – on the global development agenda.
Africa Youth Climate Assembly (AYCA) | African-led Solutions to Global Challenges
The African Youth Climate Assembly (AYCA), is a dynamic and inclusive conference aimed at uniting and amplifying the voice of African youth, sharing ideas, and showcasing youth solutions in the global fight against climate change. With its focus on fostering collaboration and engagement, AYCA will gather young change-makers from over 60 nations across Africa and beyond, showcasing their work and connecting them with AU heads of state, policymakers, influential personalities, business leaders, non-state actors, and esteemed scientists. Under the theme, “African-led Solutions to Global Challenges”, our primary objective of the assembly is seeking systematical embedment of the voices of youth in the climate decision-making frameworks at the county, national, and AU levels before, during, and after the African Climate Summit.
Africa Center for Strategic Studies | Disabling Disinformation In Africa
As part of the Africa Center’s ongoing work to understand and mitigate disinformation, this workshop brought together 26 leading African counter-disinformation practitioners, researchers, and civil society stakeholders in Nairobi, Kenya on December 7-8, 2022.
