COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate and Health

We, on the occasion of the first Health Day at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), express our grave concern about the negative impacts of climate change on health. We stress the importance of addressing the interactions between climate change and human health and wellbeing in the context of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, as the primary international, intergovernmental fora for the global response to climate change.

Launching The European Union Youth Empowerment Fund I Financial Support To Youth-Led Initiatives

The Youth Cafe participated in the Launching of the EU Youth Empowerment Fund Launch (YEF). YEF is the key flagship of the empowerment pillar of the Youth Action Plan in EU External Action (YAP). The YAP features flagships for the three pillars of the plan: engage, connect and empower. The YEF will be implemented as a pilot initiative worth €10 million that will provide direct financial support to youth-led initiatives in partner countries focusing on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level, in particular on environment and climate change and the inclusion of vulnerable and marginalised youth.

The  Youth Cafe (TYC) participated in the EU Multi-Annual Indicative Program Review consultative meeting in the esteemed presence of The European Union ambassador to Kenya, Ms. Heinrette Geiger.  The consultations included presentations of the EU Kenya bilateral program (MIP) priorities, progress to date, and what is expected to happen during 2024-2027.

Working To Develop Visions Of A Climate Resilient And Carbon Emission Free Future

Since one of our key focus areas at The Youth Café, as highlighted by our Theory of Change is Environmental Preservation and Climate change, we are delighted to be attending a virtual workshop session to be held on July 19, 2021 as part of the second phase of the project. This workshop will be attended by a diverse group of people including young people, indigenous and rural communities, civil society, business, industry, and government.
