We are pleased to announce to you that Willice Onyango has been nominated for the 3rd edition of the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition 2020 in the award category I5: Diversity and Inclusion Youth in Leadership Award, celebrating outstanding young leaders under 40 years of age who are transforming the society and inspiring others to do the same. These are leaders committed to gender equality and women empowerment, inclusion of people living with disability, and a demonstrated willingness to advance knowledge on the business case for diversity and inclusion.
The National Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition celebrate companies, government agencies, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals who champion diversity and promote inclusion at the workplace and the society at large.
The awards initiative is a product of Daima Trust, and has grown in breadth and depth since 2018, attracting leading brands and inspiring action towards making inclusion an everyday reality. It has seen participation from the nation’s most inclusive organizations, distinguished private, public sector, C-suite executives, social entrepreneurs, and leaders from diverse organizations.
In this 3rd edition, the awards process includes: nominations and receipt of submissions (November 27, 2019 to January 15, 2020), internal and external research, shortlisting, voting (February 10 to February 28, 2020) and finally the judge’s decision. This process is rigorous and incorporates both the voice of the general public and insights from a well-resourced, high ranking panel of venerable jury. The winners will be arrived at on both qualitative (what you do and your impact - judge’s decision) and quantitative (votes) basis each carrying 75% and 25% weight respectively.
The Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, March 27, 2020 starting 1800hrs – 2300hrs at the KICC, Nairobi Kenya.

Grow the reach and create more awareness on matters diversity and inclusion
Recognize, celebrate, honor and award champions of diversity and inclusion in Kenya

Inspire a sense of patriotism, respect and appreciation of cultural and ethnic diversity for lasting peace and cohesion among Kenyans
To raise the profile of and multiply champions of diversity and inclusion in Kenya
Create a networking opportunity for players across sectors as a basis/strategy to inspire continued business relationships and partnerships for good
Inspire organizational culture of acceptance and inclusiveness
In addition, this is an opportunity for us to build and align our brand, be exposed to positive public relations throughout the awards process, enlarge our social and corporate networks, meet potential clients and supporters for your initiatives, and interact with thought leaders across various sectors in Kenya.
