Global Black Youth Virtual Fest 2020

The Youth Cafe is inviting all youths across the world to attend Global Black Youth Fest on December 11 and 12. The Global Black Youth Fest 2020 is a 2-day, virtual event that creates intentional & alternative spaces for the advancement of Black perspectives, scholarship, positions, and conditions on a global scale.

The Fest is a completely interactive event featuring plenary sessions, debates, workshops, networking, thematic, regional, and globally based discussions running concurrently, culminating in a live concert! Black youth will engage in a dialogue with each other to discuss policy frameworks and promote innovative, institutionalized approaches and initiatives that address global challenges, strengthen resilience and sustainable development.

The GBY Fest 2020 will: Connect Black knowledge producers with international opportunities; Amplify Black youth innovations and knowledge sharing; and create spaces to Invest in Black talent regionally and globally. With our focus on cross-sectional and cross-regional collaboration, we anticipate 1000+ attendees over the two days! 

The Youth Cafe will have an opportunity to showcase in the Exhibitors Hall, the history, overview of the organization and our eight priority areas - Peace and Security (including Preventing Violent Extremism); Governance and Political Inclusion: Accountability; Governance and Political Inclusion: Remittances; Culture, Arts and Sports; Education and Vocational Skills; Business, Job Creation and Entrepreneurship;  Universal Health Coverage; and  Environmental Preservation and Climate Change.

The Fest will facilitate a community of young Black change-makers to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration. From the Fest young Black innovators, disruptors and entrepreneurs will leverage new opportunities, build strategic partnerships, raise visibility, and engage in collaborative problem-solving.

Moreover, the platform we build will serve as a tool to gain greater access to training opportunities, donors, and investors. academic institutions. It will provide an opportunity for a rich exchange of views and ideas on the implementation of the objectives of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
