Position Summary
The Audio Editor Expert will be involved in editing, mixing and finishing audio recordings produced by The Youth Cafe. The audio editor must be skilled in the post-production process to ensure that expectations and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in audio editing for audiobooks and/or podcasts.
Successful candidate must have a critical eye for quality and detail and work to ensure every audio project created meets our high quality standards. They must be able to manage multiple projects at various stages of production simultaneously. Organizational and collaborative skills, as well as an ability to prioritize, are a must. Candidate must be familiar with audio editing software Audition and/or Adobe Premiere.
Responsibilities
Perform in all aspects of audio recording, editing, mixing and finishing.
Close attention to quality and improvement of sound dynamics.
Creativity is encouraged.
Ability to work fast and on deadline.
Implement templates to be used as much as possible for maximum efficiency.
Organize a tracking system to maintain accountability for recordings and ensure finished recordings are delivered on deadline.
Perform audio engineering tasks such as tuning, mixing, and leveling the audio.
Perform video and audio editing tasks such as using audio editing software (that you’re proficient in) to clean up the audio interviews.
Required Skills
Degree in audio/sound engineering or related fields is a plus.
Proven minimum 2 years experience as an audio editor expert.
Have a good working knowledge of sound recording, playback, editing and mixing equipment,
Experience in the various soundtrack delivery systems.
Attention to detail and good communication skills.
A team player with the ability to be creative and innovative.
Problem-solving abilities.
Excellent hearing and manual dexterity.
Bonus if experience doing video editing.
Social Media skills are a strong plus.
