Shane Magawi is a seasoned HR professional with over ten years of experience in People & Talent Management across various industries, including agricultural, technology, financial, engineering consultancy, and non-profit sectors. As the HR Manager at The Youth Cafe, Shane is responsible for designing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational results.
Since joining in January 2023, he has significantly contributed to the organization. He has spearheaded employee training and development programs that have increased employee engagement and job satisfaction. He has also overseen HR Audit compliance management and evaluation programs that have increased accountability and improved organizational performance.
Before joining The Youth Cafe, Shane worked as People & Talent Manager at a leading engineering consultancy firm. He led a team of HR professionals and oversaw talent acquisition, employee training and development, performance management and evaluation, recruitment and onboarding, and employee engagement and retention. He is acclaimed to have taken the leading role in the firm’s ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Shane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi and a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management. He is currently taking the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) course from the College of Human Resource Management. In addition, he is a Certified Practicing HR Professional and a Full Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
Shane is a customer-oriented individual who prioritizes the needs of his clients. He is dedicated to empowering young people to achieve their full potential and always seeks ways to innovate and improve his work. Shane's core values of integrity, professionalism, and teamwork are essential to achieving excellence in HR. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new places, and volunteering for community development projects.
