CAREER HISTORY

Program administrator Mr. Eric Nyamiobo Mokebo is a qualified Educationist with a background in project management and strategic management. Eric has 17 years of working experience both as an employee and a consultant in child sponsorship, street children programs, youth employability, and empowerment. Eric has also served in various youth projects such as training and internship programs, youth employment programs, creations solutions for youth through the empowerment of both in-school youth and out of school youths, linking girls to employment through a myriad of openings such as apprenticeships, on the job training, internships, and attachments. Eric has served various communities in Kenya through training caregivers/ youth in the rural areas on entrepreneurship using the street business school model, training on life skills, and reproductive health to adolescents and youth. Youth volunteers in a number of organizations serving as the treasurer in Child Ambassadors Initiative, treasurer in a child and youth development project, a supervisory committee member in a community Sacco, and a trainer in a community-based organization in our locality.
Before joining The Youth Cafe, Eric was involved in the implementation of a child sponsorship program by Compassion International, Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP) through Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), a training and internship project, funded by World Bank and International Development Association (IDA), as an internship consultant on Youth Empowerment and Employability Program (YEEP) through Lifeskills Promoters (LISP) funded by Plan International. Eric implemented Dreams Innovation Challenge (PEPFAR funded project) targeting young women aged 19-24 bridging them to employment through HOVIC (Hope for Victoria Children).
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Eric is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Maseno University, a diploma in Project Management from Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), a diploma in Community Mobilization from Global University for Lifelong Learning (GULL) and currently undertaking a Master’ Degree in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at Kisii University.
PASSION PROJECTS AND HOBBIES
Eric has been involved in supporing the implementation of the street children program (rescue, rehabilitation, reunification, and reintegration) through HOVIC. In addition, Eric worked as an advisor on the youth and work readiness program to Increase youth employment by maximizing the collaborative efforts with other agencies and local SMEs for Rarieda Training and Resource Centre (RTRC), and worked for Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT)/ Rarieda Training and Resource Centre (RTRC) on Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!) project funded by Porticus and as the Ag training manager/ deputy principal at RTRC, a Technical Vocational Training Centre (TVETA) registered and accredited by NITA and also in-charge of Whole Youth Development program by Ujana 360 funded by Porticus. At The Youth Cafe, Eric is currently engaged in training and facilitation of life skills, skillful/ positive parenting, child rights and protection, work readiness/ employability skills, and caregiver and youth economic empowerment (entrepreneurship/ business skills training and coaching using Street Business School (SBS) model.
