The Youth Café is pleased to welcome Alex Livingstone as a new member of the Advisory board of Directors.

Alex is an Information Technology expert with 15 years of experience in infrastructure, Digital Channels, DevOps, cloud, project management, operations, and research. He has been in the forefront of assisting organisations, mainly banking and Fintech, to accomplish digital transformation to promote financial inclusion in Africa.

Alex graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management and holds a BSc in Applied Information Technology from RMIT University in Australia. He is also currently pursuing MSc in Information Security and Digital Forensic from the University of East London.

Currently employed as the Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Mpesa Africa, leading review of all changes before being allowed for deployment across seven countries (Kenya, Tanzania, DRC, Lesotho, Mozambique, Ethiopia and South Africa. This is a strategic role in driving growth of Mpesa Africa as a Fintech across African markets.

Alex previously led the digitisation of Faulu Microfinance Bank as the Technical Lead for Project Exodus, transitioning from branch to digital channels (mobile app/USSD, agency banking, and internet banking) and increasing the bank's customer base revenue. He was at the forefront of the KCB Bank Group's digital transformation across East African markets and the National Bank of Kenya.

He has been a board member of several institutions. He served on the Board of Directors of the East Wanga Zero Grazing Group from 2018 to 2020 and St. Mathias Mixed Secondary School from 2020 to 2022 . He is currently a member of the Development Committee Chair of the ACK Church Mayala 2021 to Date.

Alex is thrilled about the opportunity to work with brilliant and creative teams at The Youth Café; he believes that youth are the majority on the continent and should thus be positioned to lead the continent's transformation agenda.

He strives to bring the quest for digital transformation to The Youth Café by driving innovative culture and broadening the horizon, positioning The Youth Café to provide measurable solutions to our partners.
